The community of Delhi, Ontario, is remembering Nicole D’Hulster for her generosity, compassion, and willingness to help others. A heartfelt tribute shared by Kay & Annie’s Roadside Eatery has highlighted the meaningful difference Nicole made in the lives of local business owners and those fortunate enough to know her.
Nicole’s kindness became especially meaningful to the owners of Kay & Annie’s Roadside Eatery when they were preparing to launch their food business. In August 2024, they purchased a food truck she had listed for sale at Country Home Candle in Delhi. According to their tribute, Nicole did far more than complete the sale. She offered guidance, shared practical advice, and helped them navigate the many steps required to get their business ready to open.
Her support continued long after the purchase. Whenever the owners encountered a problem or had questions, Nicole was available to help. They recalled a particular occasion when they were unable to obtain test strips. Rather than accepting payment, Nicole invited them to her home and provided a package free of charge.
The eatery owners also remembered Nicole and her family supporting their Thanksgiving Poutine event the previous year. Nicole shared photographs of the meal and enthusiastically described the combination of turkey, cheese curds, stuffing, gravy, fries, and cranberry sauce. That memory has become especially poignant following the news of her passing.
According to the tribute, Nicole’s daughter later contacted the business to explain that her mother had hoped to enjoy the Thanksgiving Poutine again this year but passed away before she could. Nicole’s husband subsequently visited the food truck to collect meals for the family.
Thanksgiving Poutine Fundraiser in Nicole’s Honour
In recognition of Nicole’s generosity and the charitable causes she cared about, Kay & Annie’s Roadside Eatery announced that half of the proceeds from its Saturday, October 17, 2026, Thanksgiving Poutine event would be donated to Camp Trillium in Waterford, Ontario, a support organization for children with cancer and their families. Customers were also invited to make additional donations.
The tribute described Nicole as a thoughtful, supportive person who consistently made time for others. Her legacy continues through the memories she leaves behind and the kindness she inspired.
Heartfelt condolences go out to Nicole’s husband, daughter, family, friends, and everyone mourning her loss. May the generosity she showed throughout her life continue to inspire others.
